JOIN THE IGP COMMUNITY

The Indigenous Gathering Place Society of Calgary (IGPSC) invites all peoples to become society members who share our vision of building an Indigenous Gathering Place in the city of Calgary to share, connect, heal, renew, and celebrate Indigenous cultures. 

The IGPSC is committed to working in and creating ethical space in which Indigenous and Westerns ways of knowing are reflected. For the IGPSC, “Indigenous World views” refers to the oral practices, traditions, and ceremonies of Indigenous Peoples, while “Western World views” refers to the dominant practices and traditions. We find ethical space by ensuring our activities are done in a way in which everyone and all world views are respected and valued. We actively seek parallels between Indigenous and Western ways to ensure a culturally safe space where everyone is equal.

We consider anyone who supports the vision of an an Indigenous Gathering Place in Calgary to be member of our community and welcome you to sign up.

REGISTER FOR MY MEMBERSHIP

There is no cost to be a member of the IGPSC, as we do not want financial circumstances to be a barrier to join our community. However, we do rely on donations and grants to fund our activities at this point on our journey, and welcome members to “pay as you can” to support our efforts.
